Devdhar and Manorama were childhood friends.Bade Thakur had helped Devdhar locate to the city and get education.Many years later Devdhar comes back to his village and falls in love with beauty of Manorama.Manorama not realizing it marries a Narendra Pratap Singh heartbroken Devdhar then leaves the village.Narendra Pratap passes away in accident very next day after their marriage.A widowed Manorama returns to her house and faces humiliation of customs from her family for being a widow.Her sister in law Raj Rani takes her back to her husbands house.But a tragedy strikes when Narendra’s elder brother Virendra rapes her.Manorama returns back to her house telling the tale to her mother but is told to keep it a secret.Devdhar is back to the village and wants to re build Manorama’s life they both fall in love but have to face consequences related to traditional customs of widow re marriage.
